There will be a Santa Shoot on Thursday 22nd December to celebrate the festive season with games, prizes and a raffle. Christmas jumpers are encouraged!
That will be the last shooting day of 2016. The club will re-open for shooting on Thursday 5th January 2017.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Just a reminder that the club AGM will be held on Thursday 1st December at 7:30 pm at Putnoe Junior School in the Dining Hall. There will be discussions of club finances, membership fees, a vote on adopting a new constitution and election of club officers.
There will be no shooting on this evening, but please come along and join the discussions.
Please see below for details of the next beginners’ course. To enrol, please click here:
There will be no shooting at the club on 3rd November because the school are hosting a firework display and the hall is not available.
Shooting is as normal on 1st November and 6th November.
We are delighted to announce that two new Pro-Boss archery bosses have been purchased for the Club with support from The Harpur Trust 450th Celebration grant programme, which is a grant programme specifically aimed at supporting small local organisations that would benefit from additional funding.
You can see the bosses being tried out on our field for the first time here. They are made of a resilient multilayer foam base with high density inserts and are much easier to carry and position the previous foam bosses. The majority of use will be indoors where the former heavy bosses were difficult to carry into the hall.
The layout of the bosses was designed by OVA in collaboration with Pro-Boss who put them together to our specification, and made the bosses useable in multiple configurations.
Many thanks to the Harpur Trust for their generosity, and happy 450th birthday!
We will be shooting outside today in the sunshine.
It’s forecasting 14 degrees in the sunshine but the wind is quite chilly, so bring warm clothes, plenty of layers, and something that you can shoot in that won’t catch or snag on your arm.
Five Zone Scoring – Gold = 9, Red = 7, Blue = 5, Black = 3, White = 1
There will be no Club shooting on Sunday 11th September as most of the Club is entered in the Kestrels National Tournament at Biggleswade.
Please come along to support Club archers at Stratton School Field (SG18 0NE) Alternative entrance.
Hope that’s okay.
UPDATE While we are blessed with an Indian Summer we will be shooting outside for as long as we can. If there is daylight and clear skies come at 6:30 for outside shooting.
While we are still able to shoot outdoors on Sundays, weather permitting, we are now moving indoors on Tuesdays and Thursdays because sunset is now at 7:45 which doesn’t leave enough time to set the field out and shoot before the light fades.
More on the indoor season competition later.
