The dates for the club outdoor tournament are now up on the Events page, together with the rounds to be shot. Remember that your best three scores go forward for the competition, so if you can shoot all five rounds you stand more chance of winning.
Also a quick reminder that the annual club dinner is on 19th February and the sign-up sheet for this is with the register at the club. Places are limited, so sign up as soon as you can.
The annual club dinner will be held at the Horse and Groom, in Clapham, on Saturday 19th February 2011, at 7pm. There is a limit of 35 people, so first come first served. A sign up sheet is in the register, or see Kayleigh for more details.
The club’s Christmas fun shoot will be running on Sunday 12th, Tuesday 14th and Thursday 16th. It will be scored on the basis of a slightly abstract system to give everybody a chance of winning a prize. Raffle tickets will be on sale for £1 a strip, and donations for prizes will be gratefully received. Fancy dress is optional on the Sunday and Tuesday, with as many people in fancy dress as possible on the Thursday please! If you would like to help in any way, contact Kayleigh or see her at club.
On October 28th it is our club Halloween fun shoot. Fancy dress is obligatory!! There will be prizes for both fancy dress and your actual shooting! We will be running the raffle, as always, for which we need prizes donating. Remember, the more the prizes donated, the more there is for you to win! There will also be a produce sale on for you to browse at your leisure, with all proceeds going to the club. If you have any jams, cake, and general sweet yummy things to contribute, bring them along on the day.
Last year we had some really awesome turn outs for the fun shoots, so again this year I hope to see as many of you there as possible!
The Paddock Fest is our club’s founders’ day shoot. It will be held on the 27th of June, and is traditionally a very social event. For those who do not know, it is a very unusual shoot, with animal faced targets that are set at a range of heights and distances that are different from those that we usually shoot at. It will be scored according to a very cunning handicap scheme, which means that absolutely anybody could win prizes on the day.
There will be a pot-luck, bring & share supper after the shoot in our marquee. Please feel free to invite partners, children, etc, so long as you bear in mind that they will need to keep safely away from the pointy end of things while we are shooting. Although the day will be organised by Laurie and John, it would not be fair to expect them to do everything, so please muck in, come early to help set up, and bring something suitable to share afterward too!
Please also remember that if you were one of last year’s winners, your trophy must be returned to Laurie in time for the event.
